A century-long history of hard work

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Italian Unification, the Chamber of Commerce of Lecce wanted to celebrate by awarding a prize to the ‘Imprese Storiche’: Italian «historic companies» with at least a century of business experience behind them. On 18 April, 2012, the entrepreneurs who contributed to the greatness of the Salento region went up on the stage of the Paisiello Theatre to receive certificates and medals from Alfredo Prete, president of Lecce’s Chamber of Commerce, and from Ferruccio Dardanello, president of the Unioncamere (Union of Italian Chambers of Commerce).

Created by the Unioncamere in June 2011, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Italian Unification, the national register of historic companies became an instrument for the diffusion and promotion of firms that succeeded in combining innovation and tradition, openness to world markets and closeness in their community.
